Ceramics

In this course, students will experiment with hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques ceramicists use, including coil and slab construction.  They will explore different surface treatments, including using texture, sgraffito, glazing, and staining.  There will be an emphasis on craftsmanship in this class, and students must take their time.  Students will be exposed to basic ceramic vocabulary and be required to research a ceramicist of their choice.
